About Us

see profiles The Bugstompers Mil-Sim Paintball team officially started in January 2007 in Calgary, Alberta by a group of paintball enthusiasts who wanted to take basic woodsball and scenario play to the next level.
The first Bugstompers envisioned a military-style group with common uniforms, milsim markers and a dedication to using military tactics and ethos to create a successful and challenging paintball team..
Since those early days, the Bugstompers have grown into a well known fixture in the Western Canadian paintball scene and have attracted a growing list of high calibre team members as well as some of the top industry sponsorships. Our roster now includes a number of former NATO military veterans who between them have over 70 years of combined military and combat experience. We are also fortunate to include serving police officers and other players from a wide range of career backgrounds, giving the Bugstompers a wealth of experience to draw from.
The team has set itself a number of challenges and it is those challenges that define who we are. First and foremost, we hold ourselves to a higher standard of training, performance and personal conduct than the average paintball team.
Getting into the Bugstompers is tough enough, but holding a position on the regular squad demands an ongoing commitment to the team and our sport. Each Bugstomper is expected to be a role model for paintball in general and milsim paintball in particular. We all enjoy meeting first time players or old hands and explaining who we are and what we do. Promoting the sport is one of our primary responsibilities and each team member is expected to do his or her part.
The Alberta Milsim Group was created in June 2009, in an effort to grow the popularity of milsim paintball and the general player base beyond the limited ranks of the Bugstompers, our team leadership sponsored the creation of the Alberta Milsim Group (AMG). The AMG is open to everyone who has an interest in milsim paintball and wants to learn more about our form of the game. Under the leadership of the Bugstompers, the AMG conducts milsim days to give players a chance to experience the thrill of taking part in military-style missions within a challenging and often intense environment. We also hold regular joint Bugstomper-AMG training days to allow AMG players to raise their skill levels alongside our own team members
So ya wanna be a Bugstomper?

You will not find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.”
